“I am a 61 year old Chartered Accountant. I have had rheumatoid Arthritis since I was 27.
For some years leading up to covid I had been increasing my weight to close on 84 kg and as a 5ft 3, that was obese and I started to feel it in my self esteem, and I was feeling unhealthy. Then covid uncermoneously arrived and the added stress of keeping clients in business, working remote from my staff just unhinged me. In addition my husband and I had daily sundowners during lockdown which didn’t help my waistline. I used to wake up in the middle of the night with ringing in my ears .

A very good friend suggested I contact Maaike and there my health journey began. 3 years later and I’m below 70kg, I sleep well, and I have so much more energy.

Even though Maaike and I have only met in person once as I exercise on zoom, Maaike has managed to built up my body strength and muscles to a point that I now have started hiking and loving it. I have a long term view so I wasn’t expecting short term results, I wanted my weight loss to be sustainable. I excercise 3 half hours per week to Maaike’s exercise plan on Zoom sessions and I do the parkrun (mostly walk it) on most Saturdays. My mental health is so much improved.
